After all the back and forth rumors with Texas A&M earlier this season I decided not to post anything about this until it was official — and now it is. Missouri will join the Southeastern Conference for the 2012-13 school year. While the press release doesn’t mention it, the rumors from yesterday that proved true claimed Mizzou would join the SEC as part of the East Division. With Texas A&M the SEC will now stand at 14 teams, 13 of which play volleyball. Scheduling issues are still to be worked out. Last season MU made it to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Volleyball Tournament. I’ll have more about the (third SEC!) Tigers later this week.
