Tennessee fought off a feisty North Florida squad, getting a win in four (25-12, 25-20, 23-25, 25-15). More soon.
UPDATE: Lily Felts handily led both teams in kills with 18. She had 4 blocks and just missed out on a double double with 9 digs. Tessa Grubbs put down 11 kills and also had 4 blocks. Erica Treiber had 10 kills while hitting .529. She led the match with 9 blocks — only she and Alyssa Andreno have reached that many in a single match since 2015.
Callie Williams put up 23 assists and Sedona Hansen added 20 more. Brooke Schumacher dug up 26 balls — that’s the 56 most in a game in school history, and the 20th most in a four-set match.
Williams has 8 aces through the first five matches of the year for 0.47 aces per set. If she were to keep that pace up through the entire season, she’d be the first Lady Vol since 2001 to crack into a UT season aces top ten list.
