Tennessee sweeps ISU

UT earned victory number six of 2018 with a sweep of Indiana State (25-19, 26-24, 25-20). More tonight.

UPDATE: Danielle Mahaffey was the only Lady Vol with double digit kills, with 11 on 20 attacks for a .450 hitting percentage. Tessa Grubbs had 9, Addison Rowe had 8, hitting .500. Erica Treiber had 5 blocks, while Breana Jeter, Rowe, and Mahaffey had 3 each. Sedona Hansen led the setter with 22 assists; Callie Williams had 10. Brooke Schumacher scooped up 14 digs, while Giana Pellixxon had 10, and Williams added 9.

Tennessee won the tournament, with three Lady Vols getting awards. Treiber and Schumacher were named to the tournament team. Lily Felts was named tourney MVP.

UT is 6-0 for the first time since 2015. Since 1978, the team has started 6-0 just five other times: 1979, 1986, 2004, 2010, 2015.

Felts is the first Lady Vol to earn MVP honors at at regular season tournament since Yuliya Stoyanova in 2004.
