San Diego sweeps Lady Vols

Tennessee played the #16 team in the country close, but couldn’t avoid the sweep, losing to San Diego 25-19, 25-21, 25-18.

Erica Treiber led the team with 9 kills and hitting .571. Tessa Grubbs had 7. Freshman Rocky Perinar impressed in her collegiate debut, leading the team in blocks with 5. Treiber and Addisyn Rowe added 3 more each. Sedona Hansen had 14 assists; Callie Williams had 13. Brooke Schumacher had 9 digs.

San Diego’s Kaity Edwards hit .750 (10-1-12) for the match — the fourth highest hitting percentage by a UT opponent with double digit attacks since 2001.

This was the first match since 2015 where no Tennessee player reached double digits in kills and digs.
