Vols get win over SC

Tennessee earned a hard fought comeback win against the Gamecocks in five this afternoon (20-25, 26-24, 21-25, 25-21, 15-9). More soon.

Erica Treiber led the team in five categories with 16 kills, a .452 hitting percentage, three aces, five blocks, and 21.5 points. The kills, aces, and points totals were career highs for the freshman. Kendra Turned had 11 kills. Raina Hembry and Bri Holmes had ten kills each. Hembry also had three blocks while Holmes had seven digs. Kanisha Jimenez had seven kills, 13 digs, and four blocks. Lexi Dempsey put up 48 assists, nine digs, and three blocks. Bridgett Villano had 28 digs, the third time this year she’s had at least 25 in a match. Megan Hatcher had 12.

Tennessee won the match despite having fewer kills, attacks, assists, digs, blocks, and points! The Vols are 2-0 in five set matches this year, 8-1 at home, and 4-0 in smokey gray uniforms.
